If we would have new knowledge, we must get a whole new world of questions.

CLARIFYQuestions, Challenges, and Research
Creative ideas require time to filter the information, connect research, experiences, observations, conversations and targets.
The key to understanding is asking questions, deeply listening, and observing, not only what is said, but other cues, like body language and actual behaviours in action.
In groups it is incredibly insightful to set up good questions and have individuals answer using pictures. Building a group picture, and seeing the whole together helps everyone see themes and make new connections. Activities like these, provide common ground and language for innovative co-creating.
Discussing Questions from different perspectives, like Who you want to be, both for potential or future customers, and your people draws out critical words and priorities that reflect the complexity of stakeholder ideals. This process is a catalyst for clarification, iteration and organizing priorities.
Drawing out a straw-man version of filtered research, insights and diverse perspectives, gives stakeholders an opportunity to iterate together, aligning around a common point of view, priorities and strategic direction.
Mind Maps can then help fill research gaps. This role mind map was used to gather insights during interviews on sales role priorities, common challenges and areas that would have the highest impact on their job. Speaking to a few of these roles globally and building mind-maps together clarified global understanding of various roles that would be using new technologies, driving key development direction for a multimillion dollar software implementation.
Refining complexity with multiple groups using words and visuals helps diverse groups build images of a common issue. The process of developing a word cloud between diverse groups created a big picture of a given Cultural Intelligence for example.
Sometimes using imagery, drawing, and mind-mapping can feel childlike, which is often exactly what is needed to clarify complex challenges. Innovation, after all is messy and requires a Beginners Mind. CONNECT to clarify your next challenge.
